Dermal fillers are excellent injectables that restore volume to deep lines and wrinkles in the face. At Mesna Plastic Surgery, we inject dermal filler gel into lines in the lips, cheeks, smile lines, temples, and jaw line. Injectables begin to work within a week or two and can have smoothing effects for six months to a year.

Filler is used to replace lost volume in the face. Typical treatment areas
are lips, cheeks, jowls or jaw line, temples. We can restore volume with
filler. The patient will have certain areas they want treated, and then
we'll pick a filler based on which area and what skin type that person has.
Filler typically lasts 6 to 12 months, depending on which filer we choose,
and re-treatment is necessary at some point to maintain the results.
Typically, I schedule about an hour with a patient, and that will cover the
consult and education. We'll talk about post-care, possible side effects,
and then we'll actually do the treatment. There's always a risk of bruising
or bleeding any time we use a needle. The risk is very low, but patients do
have to be prepared that they may have a facial bruise. Facial bruising can
last between 7 and 12 days.
